The problem
A gallery website has two readers. The collector wants the work. The critic wants the argument. Most sites serve neither well.
Artlogic gives a gallery its inventory, its artist pages and its press in one system, and most galleries run it. What it does not give them is a reason for the site to look like theirs, or a page that reads the way a wall text reads.
The build kept the platform and changed the register: letterspaced capitals, a wide measure for the biography, the work given the room it would have on a wall. Everything the gallery updates, it updates in Artlogic. Nothing on the site needs the studio to change.
Built
9.1
Artist pages
Works, biography and press under one name, with the Artlogic inventory behind them. One template, every artist.
9.2
Exhibitions and press
Current and past shows, and the coverage each one drew, pulled from the same records the gallery already keeps.
9.3
The type
Spaced capitals for names and navigation, a long measure for text, and images shown at the size the work deserves. Set inside Artlogic’s constraints, not around them.
