For galleries, fairs and institutions
Software by someone who writes about your shows.
Inventory, press, programmes, websites. Artlogic builds where the gallery already lives there. Built by a studio that writes criticism, curates and ships code, so the judgement survives the handoff.

The problem
A show is described as a sequence of arguments and arrives as a grid of thumbnails sorted by date.
Nobody decided to flatten it. The person who understood the argument was not in the room when the defaults were set. The studio builds with that person in the room, because it is the same person.
What you get
1.1
A tool that knows the trade
Consignments, editions, provenance, press embargoes. Modelled the way the art world uses them, not the way a generic CRM does.
1.2
One studio, no handoff
Strategy, writing, design and build from the same desk. The judgement that shaped the brief is the judgement that ships the code.
1.3
A fixed scope, written first
What it does, what it does not, what it costs and when it lands, agreed before the first line is written.
1.4
Artlogic kept, extended or left
Varvara Roza Galleries runs on Artlogic, built by the studio. Where the platform fits, the work goes into the front end and the records. Where it is the constraint, the studio says so and builds what replaces it.
Then
Ship
Built, published and handed over with the documentation to run it.
Asked before
What size of gallery is this for?
Any gallery or institution with a programme worth cataloguing properly. Most briefs sit between a focused tool and a full platform.
Do we have to replace what we use now?
No. Most builds sit beside existing systems and take over one job well. Replacement is a decision for later, if ever.
Do you build on Artlogic?
Yes. Varvara Roza Galleries is an Artlogic site built by the studio. Where the platform already fits the programme, the work goes into the front end, the records and the things that sit around it, rather than into replacing something that works.
Artlogic or something custom?
Artlogic if the programme fits what the platform does and you want it running soon. Custom if the thing that makes the gallery distinctive is the thing the template flattens. The studio says which before anyone commits, and says Artlogic when Artlogic is the answer.
Can you move us off Artlogic?
Yes, once it is clear the platform is the problem and not one job inside it. Often a single tool sitting beside Artlogic fixes what is wrong, and that is the cheaper answer. Where it is the platform, the records come out and the replacement is built around how the gallery actually works.
Who does the work?
The studio, directly. No account layer, no agency between you and the person building it.
How is it priced?
Fixed scope, fixed price, in writing before work starts. Ranges are on the project brief.
